What do the band do once set up?

Doctor Chocolate arrive at a venue for 6pm and we take 90 minutes to set up and sound check. This means that the band will be ready from 7:30pm. After set up we normally put on one of our playlists on the Ipod – it can be easy listening or we can crank it up and put something on that is more for party dancing! We have a large selection of playlists so there will be something for everyone.
After set up Doctor Chocolate will often go and sit in a room near by where we can leave our suitcases and get changed in private. However, sometimes the venue has entertainment available!
Here you’ll see the naughtiest members of Doctor Chocolate in the stocks! At the same time members of the band were off playing croquet or swing ball! It’s all rock and roll!
Good job the sun was out, there were no rotten fruit to throw and we were let out on good behaviour after a short time!
Reliable bands
Doctor Chocolate have been on the circuit for over 25 years. In all that time we have never double booked the band on the same night, we have never cancelled an event or turned up later than agreed and we have never ever let any client down. We have covered for many bands that have though and often receive a last minute phone call asking if we are available due to a client being let down by another band! Sadly this seems to happen a lot and it can be a distressing time for you, the client.

We have our own top of the range equipment and this is worth over £25,000, all fully pat tested, stage and dance-floor lighting and we also have public liability insurance. Doctor Chocolate are often asked what songs we include in our sets. Well we have an extensive list of songs that we play and it’s hard to choose what we can cram into two hours so we only choose the best songs from the 1960’s through to current chart hits. Not all the songs we choose to play at weddings, charity events and corporate events have brass in the original recordings – but as we have an awesome brass section it would be criminal not to use them – so we adapt and change the songs to give them a big, round and full sound. You can be sure that we carefully pick our sets of floor filers and there is something for every generation in our sets. We always have a packed dance-floor – no matter what the occasion!
We are currently working on some new numbers for the sets to keep them fresh and funky and have a few rehearsals scheduled in for the month of February.

One Direction Shred
Doctor Chocolate are a fully live 9-piece wedding, party and function band based in the South West.
We always perform fully live – there are no backing tracks involved – what you see is what you get. We have 25 videos on our website that were recorded at a live charity event – this shows the band as we would perform for any event that we are booked for! Have a look at them here
However, we have recently been sent this link to see a “shred” of the very famous One Direction performing. This shred is so funny! This is actually not One Direction performing – it is the work of a very funny individual who has over-dubbed the lads in the band and this was the result.
